So last friday night I was in downtown Victoria, and traffic was at a stand still. People everywere. SO as I am in this small town grid lock, the temp on my bike rises (as expected just sitting there). So somewere about 100-102 the fan kicks in, but as this is all happeneing, my oil light starts to, blink/flicker. I think it may be due to how hot my bike has been running. So I find a parking lot, pul over and let it cool a bit. Once it cooled, I jump on for the ride home. But the oil light comes on again about half way home, and it is flickering again.
I think this is odd, cause I checked the oil only a matter of days ago and it was fine, but when I get home, I check it anyway, and sure enough, the diop stick shows golden/amber oil to about 3/4 the way up the dip stick. Then last night while ridding down the hwy (bike never got as hot as it did last time, it started to flicker again. Check it again, and its an ok clolour/level.
The manual says that the light will flicker under hard accel/brake/cornering, but I was doing none of the above when this happened.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what this could be, or if the reading on the dip stick could somehow be wrong (I have no idea how that could happen).
