I've been wondering lately how far sport motorcycle manufacturers are going to go with increasing the displacement of their v-twin engines in the quest for more power.
Engineering wise there has to be a wall they're going to hit with regards to piston size and weight where they just can't get the thing to rev and all it's good for is drag racing from stop light to stop light a' la Harley.
With the massively oversquare 1199 ducati has managed to make a v-twin that has the undesirable traits of an inline four from 20 years ago. Will they continue to increase the displacement of their v-twin or will they go to an 1100cc v-four and revive the desmo?
The same question for buell too. How big will they make them before they won't rev
