allright kiddies, this time around we'll swing away from a m/c themed topic and hit up something else that often seems to be a hot topic around here at times - transit and transportation.
with the LM continuing to grow and undoubtedly more vehicles being piled onto our roads, how are we best able to deal with our transportation issues? more skytrain? more busses? light rail? dedicated lanes for bicycles/scooters? just build more roads? a change in urban planning? what to do?
personally i'd like to see inter-urban light rail and improvements to the current transit system. once that's in place to help pay for it i'd suggest higher fuel taxes that go directly towards paying for said infrastructure. transit fees should be held at current levels or even reduced and the "zone" system eliminated. i'd also call for lowering vehicle insurance costs as part of this system. finally, business related traffic would get a tax credit for their fuel costs - but the vehicle would need to be used in the direct operation of the business.
