This may be a touchy subject for some but I believe it may spawn worthwhile conversation regarding biking saftey.
With the unfortunate passing of a few fellow riders this year, I got to wondering what is a common cause of death in a motorcycle accident? Is it massive head trauma? Is it internal organ failure? Broken neck?
The reason I ask is that I take every precaution I can regarding gear to avoid death. However, when official accident reports are released, details such as gear and fatal injuries are rarely included. Are we really less likely to die in a crash if the internal organs and spine are properly protected? Could those deaths that have occured been prevented, and if so, by what means?
Obviouly leather suits are good for preserving skin and preventing fractures, but is there anything we can do when the "big one" comes?
Any positive additions to this discussion would be appreciated.
R.I.P to all our fallen friends. Lets all do what we can to prevent any further tradgedies
