Anyone following this sad saga?
I have personally seen parents go to great lengths to make sure their kid can play the sports he/she wants to play with no expectation of anything other than the kid having a bit of fun while growing up. When I read about something like this, while it's thankfully in the minority, it is really, really saddening.

TLDR: between 18-19 mil career earnings to date; parents have power of attorney; barely 6k in his chequing account.
