    I'm not telling, but Atom isn't allowed near it.
    The most expensive helmet, that fits your head very well willl be the quietest and lightest.

    As far as helmets go, once you find the brands and models that fit well (and are DOT and SNELL approved), the only differences between cheap and expensive are graphics, weight, and sound/features.

    expensive/ lightest helmet != quiet

    What Jim said + earplugs = quietest

    We rode our bikes together, we laughed together, we cryed together, we even lived together. All our friends said we were a the perfect match. I can tell the world that I know I'm the luckiest person alive because I got to live my dream for 3 years 7 months and 11 days.

    You Betcha!
    Even the most expensive helmet is noisy. Wear plugs. That's why most of the magazine hacks use them, and they get alot of high end gear on comp or as demos. The venting that comes on all good helmets create noise, i.e. an Arai RRX7 has better ventilation but is nosier than the Quantum. As for fit and weight, try them all. Arai and Shoei sell different models for various shaped heads (round, oval, long ovals). And take your time, you'll have to live with you decision for a couple of years (lucky) before it's time to replace it.

    buy the helmet for fit and comfort not quietness
    I ride purely, and only, because it is fun.

    I ride because I love freedom, independence, and the movement of the ground beneath me.

    I like mine 'cause it's got pretty colours.

    Fit equals safety, comfort may not. A looser new helmet may feel comfy, but it'll only pack out and spin around your head when you shoulder check. Well, not really, but its effectiveness is reduced with improper fit.

    And, I actually like the noise.
    Good Luck and Godspeed!

    In many situations a quiet pipe is not going to make much of a difference. Most of the noise I hear is the wind blowing past.

    I like my Shoei RF 900 and even with a loud exhaust running D&D slip on its pretty quiet.
