Why don't I...........cuz its fuggin EXPENSIVE.
And blows up motors real good. Somebody should a litre bike motor in one of those things... it would last alot longer...
Buy used! I'm always seeing bikes - especially Alberta postings - of turboed or big bore bikes with the timerbersled kits all over the place.
EG: 6000 k, including the bike.
6200 in edmonton.
I seem to recall that the snowbikes can do things that sleds can't, such as cross inclines horizontally, and are better in the woods. But heaven help you if you get stuck in deep snow! Better work on your shovelling technique ...
Yup, these things destroy motors so fucking fast. A 450 is BARELY able to deal with the load.

Two smoke would be cheaper to rebuild, and it's inexpensive (if the track setup is worth $6000)...
Still, a dirt bike is 50hp short of most snowmobiles, has relatively small transmission parts and probably even the motor cases are too light for the loads. Stick a litrebike motor in it.... Or just buy a snowmobile...
And yet, it really looks like fun.
I have one and its incredible. It goes places a sled can't go. Even on my sled if I'm chasing a track all of a sudden the line gets weird and your all damn it a snow bike track. not uncommon to see a dozen or so snow bikes on the hills everytime out.
