I got a quote from Coast Capital for the 3rd party insurance for my new bike and in the declaration it states; The Coast Capital policy is for a full year, with no option to go monthly. I don't recall ever seeing this in their contract before, and always assumed I had theft/fire/damage protection when my bike was uninsured and garaged. I have yet to call them to ask if this is something new, but I found a BCSB post saying the ICBC storage policy is $130/3-Months, which is ridiculous, dependent on value of bike of course, but who would pay that when your bike is just sitting? Does anyone do this?• This policy can be used to cover your motorcycle when it is in storage and not licensed. However, if you would like the Coast Motorcycle ProgramTM limit of liability when your bike is in storage, you must also have an ICBC storage policy (APV345) with the basic liability coverage in place for the Coast Motorcycle ProgramTM policy liability limit to be active.
I wonder if all 3rd party insurance Co's have this requirement in their policy as well?
Maybe this 3rd party insurance isn't such a deal after all?
