I have been insuring with Coast Capital for 6 years. No issues. Always easy to deal with.
I needed insurance on new bike so i naturally go back to them. Their quote came in higher than i expected, but it includes replacement value on the bike so that makes sense i guess. Paperwork arrived today.
In the Vehicle Use section it says "No off-road". I called to see what this meant exactly since it was not on any of my other policies in the past. The explanation was
It is ok to ride your bike on a dirt road if you have a destination in mind, such as a town that is at the end of a dirt road, or you own a cabin and this is the only access, or maybe your going to a lake for camping, but it is not ok to just tour around on a dirt road when there are paved roads going to the same destination.
WTF is that all about. Someone telling me what roads i am allowed to ride my bike on.
Policy cancelled. Now to find someone else that doesn't tell me where i can ride. Hopefully this isn't the rule everywhere.
