The Vancouver Motorcycle Show should be downtown.
I've been saying this for years and since I went to the Auto Show yesterday there's absolutely no doubt in my mind that it would be awesome. It was my first time at the Vancouver Trade and Convention Center and I was thoroughly impressed.
If the bike show was downtown it would be more mainstream, there would be more exposure to bring new riders into motorcycling and there would definitely be more of a wow factor. It just makes sense to have the bike show in the highest density area of the Lower Mainland.
It's funny, there were a few motorcycles at the Auto Show and from what I saw, the biggest smiles and excitement was around the bikes rather than the cars. As far as I'm concerned, motorcycle riders are superstars! Pretty much anyone can drive a car, but riding a motorcycle takes skill, commitment and a proactive approach. We simply rock!
