    Reminds me of that story back in 1993 or 94 when a man walking on Granville was stuck and killed by an airborne tire that came off a transit bus. I somehow remember this incident as being the reason why lug nut torque indicators were mandated on all commercial vehicles in BC.

    He sure wouldn't have felt it at least, if that was any consolation. Timing for that one was incredible, if he had just missed one red light, or dropped his keys, or forgot something in the house he would have been ok.

    I was almost nailed by a giant debris-bomb flying up off a semi-truck's exploding re-tread once, many years ago on the I-5 in Oregon in the midst of fairly heavy traffic. Just missed my head by inches.

    Sometimes things just happen, and perhaps it all lends credence to the aphorism - "when your time is up ... your time is up!"

    Live life fully, and fully consciously.
    I define Hell as having to ride back and forth from Blaine to Tijuana on I - 5 in perpetuity.
