LCP and I are headed for 'mid-Cal' from May 9 thru the 24/25th, finishing with a couple track days at Thunderhill May 18-19 (for me, at least). This leaves the final 5 or so days of our trip open, and the re-opening of the inspiring thread about WWD14 has 'sealed the deal' for us to spend those final days enjoying the finest riding anywhere! And we thought we'd 'open it up', to see if anyone wants to join us, on short notice, for some or all of the time.
While the Gaia in Anderson is a superb location, much of the best riding is east of Chico ( 1 hr south) and Oroville ( 1 1/2 hrs). We're thinking of basing in Oroville for the first two days, then sliding up to the Gaia for the final 2 or 3.
The weather is stable and sunny, but it's still spring, so it'll be chilly up high (single digits C), so bring warmth.
This is fast, deserted, unforgiving country, and the pace will be spirited. We don't want to be picking people outa the canyons, so calm competence would be a desirable trait. For sure, over-achieving egos need not apply. If you're sociable and enjoy good food and wine in the evening, so much the better! Oh, and I'm no 1 percenter, so accommodation will be a couple steps under 5 stars...
We are trailering, and that's by far the best way of covering the 1200kms from here to there and back. If there are several interested parties, I'm sure you can mutually make arrangements.
Oh man! This is gonna be soooooo good! Can you come?
