Hey, what a trip! Easyrider and I just got back from the black hills area in south dakota. We rode to oregon to meet up with a few others and trailered to black hills where we met up with 40 or so people from his website. Mostly zx12r's, but there were a few 9r's, a 6r, a bandit1200, ex500, and a couple of gixxer1k's. A lot of NICE bikes with everything from strobes and ground effects to big backseat N0S bottles and custom parts that a few of the guys machined themselves.
Once we got there we ripped around the local backroads, the badlands, saw devils tower and mount rushmore, then ripped around some more! The local canyons (spearfish canyon in particular) absolutely rock. There is everything from super technical tight twisties to straights where you can see for 2 miles ahead of you, and 150mph (well for SOME people) banked sweepers.
We then rode back through south dakota, wyoming, montana, idaho, and washington. Some pretty boring desert up until you start getting close to spokane then the ride gets wild as you rip through the mountain regions. The spokane strip is fun to ride through on I90 at night, followed shortly by more twisty mountains and eventually a beautiful ride up through the northern cascades.
Tons of great roads and scenery, I'll post up some pics soon.
