I was going to post this in the other thread but it was closed for some reason.. not allowed to talk about common biker issues?
I filled up at Chevron in Surrey and headed around Duffey, then came back through Squamish and stopped at the Chevron there to fill up, my card was rejected at the pump, it came back with "Pump disabled, see clerk inside" so i went in to yell at them for turning off the pump. The guy said he didn't turn it off, but you are not allowed to use your credit card twice in the same day unless you come inside.
I thought he was full of it, but then the same thing happened to me on another ride, so it was true. Is it only Chevron doing this?
The pump was fine to take my debit card.
I guess the option is to pick one station to fill up in the morning, and some other station at night, unless you enjoy leaving everything you own sitting on your bike and going inside to chat with some bimbo behind the counter, and they don't even ask for ID or anything, just take the exact same card and run it through for authorization. How dumb is that?
And about that sitting on the bike thing.. I find i am able to sit on it anywhere in lower mainland, but outside town they want you to go inside to authorize payment.
