Wow... from the rider's comments it seems like he's getting a lot of hindsight feedback/criticism, but I'd be surprised if anyone would have gotten out of the way. Good enough he got off the bike.
but why turn video into gifs.
Car swerved. If the bike advanced to try turning away what's to say the car wouldn't have made an even sharper turn. Then he's getting sideswiped.
Another great example of GOPRO footage clearing the rider of a potential insurance company 50/50 at fault judgement, cleaning their hands of responsibility, and insurance fraud of the SUV driver who could have easily blamed the bike rider for a rear ender.
That sucks. Unless he was looking to upgrade from that CBR 250R anyway.
The bike rider is fortunate to be limber enough to get off that quickly to avoid getting crushed. You saw the bike, so the rider would have been under the car as well had he not been able to quickly dismount.
It looked like he started to move to the right to get out of the way but ran out of time. I think i likely would have tried to roll the bike backwards with finger on horn which would also have failed, but maybe the bike would not get run over.
It's an easy way for them to raise two people's rates instead of just eating it. Our car got written off by a Jeep Cherokee rear ending us full speed at a red light and pushing us forward about 8-10 feet. They tried to claim we were at fault for damage to the car in front of us that we got pushed into, because we were stopped too close. Thank god for witnesses.
Dash cameras - if you don't have them, don't have a car.
"Yamaha" - it's Japanese for "fuck your sports car."
