Seems like about time for another breakfast run to Fat Jack's. Fat Jack's is a 'special' diner on the flats north of Boston Bar, run by gourmet chef, Todd Baiden, previously of cult "12B" small-group dining fame here in Vancouver.
The locale also features sometimes-artist-in-residence, Johnny Taylor. So this is a ride to go enjoy a good breakfast, and to have a wander about on an attractive little bench above the Mighty Fraser, and to dip into a bit of abstract art that you might find surprisingly resonant of the reality of the city, albeit now tinged with wilderness and the forest...
We leave from the Chevron at 1st and Rupert at 7:00 promptly.
Meet spot #2 will be the Tim Hortons at the Whatcom Road exit; leave at 8:00 promptly.
Fuel stop will be the Chevron on Water Avenue [ i.e., Hwy 1 northbound, not the 'other' station on the Old Hope-Princeton Highway, which is the usual stop for those headed east...]; leave at 9: 00 promptly.
Personal preference will dictate, but it'd be best to ride out having had a light bite, cuz breakfast / brunch will be at Fat Jack's once we get to Boston Bar about 10am. If the group is large, expect to wait a bit for your food - the kitchen is not large, so patience will be a virtue.
Pace is according to personal preference, but we all will end up at the same place in the end... you might get there first, but they ain't gonna run out of eggs!
And as for 'afters'? Well, some may want to return directly to Vancouver, some may want to head off to Spences Bridge / Merritt to loop back thru Princeton (or the Coq), some may continue north to Lillooet and ride the Duffey. The choices, like the food, will all be delicious.
