Now that the weather is in full summer mode, i'm free to let my mind wander towards getting a new 3 season jacket, for the rainy season around these parts. Been looking at a bunch of different brands and models, from REV'IT to Spidi to Alpinestars to Dainese. Obviously a gore-tex jacket is going to cost a good bit more. My priorities are for riding in the wettest, coldest months, and into the spring when it still fairly cool out. I've heard varying reports that gore-tex layers only last around 3-4 seasons of heavy use, and if true, this obviously gives me cause for pause. I'm always willing to spend good money for quality, safe gear, so long as it lasts. The only other thing i've noticed is that alot of the higher end jackets come standard with real crappy back pads, that you really should upgrade. Would appreciate opinions on the subject. I will likely end up ordering from somewhere in the states, as i find the local and Canadian online brand choices rather limited. Thoughts?
