Spinning right round baby right round.

    Fire on Westside Road

Notable as a popular motorcycling destination of course, so in case anyone was planning a ride through there.....

Shades of 2003 up there for many I'm sure.

So far it's nothing like 2003/2004 up here. But it is very very dry.

It's raining today, so it should be all good soon.
On busy weekends it's too crowded, and there are better roads.

    I was through there today.
Fire burned right down to the road for about a km. Lots of smouldering and smell, crews still working hard, just one
minor slow down for some equipment and back into it.
After lunch in Salmon Arm, I came back via Carrs Landing. From the other side of the lake the fire area looks a lot more substantial.
I believe it is 'out' for the most part.

Hopefully today's rain will be a great help. If it is raining there. 2:00 am was pouring in Kits!

Was over westside a couple times yesterday. No fire action but the half hour wait for drilling/blasting sucks.

It's a great route to avoid Kelowna and Vernon traffic jams in summer heat. Well .. not the west kelowna traffic bottle neck.
