The question was: How tight was my wife's oil drain bolt, after going to a shop for an oil change?
I do, however, enjoy some of the questions provided.
I usually do our oil changes, but her bike was at the shop for other reasons. Went to do the next oil change last night and had a hard time taking the drain bolt out. For a lark I pulled out my torque wrench. I started with 50, then 90, then 140 (O.o) then went as far as my wrench would go: 250ft-lb. Still not moving. It finally loosen up after a slight application of a breaker bar and a judicious application of anger. I expected that thing to come out stripped with a fucked up oil pan. Thankfully all was well.
I don't think a drain plug can handle that Amount of force Without stripping.
Maybe they added a little bit or a lot of red Loctite to the drain plug.
