Took my mountainbike to Squish to explore some of the raved about single-track stuff in the area (had some great rides) yesterday (Sunday), only to get totally bogged down trying to head back to Van at the end of the day. Traffic - becasue of volume only (no accidents) - was inching along at max 3 km/hr all the way from Squamish to Murrin Lake, where the road narrows to one lane, and then after Britainnia Beach, where it splits again, it finally eased up again.
All that ... total non-function - for a billion dollars.
Not such a great deal, if you ask me. And it appears as though the 52 million they paid to re-do the Lions Gate Bridge, is starting to near it's functional end (deck surface is falling apart again).
Maybe Glen's fast ferries weren't such a bad deal/idea, after all ...
