Just a minor incident in a parking lot, but I'm curious where it would have gone responsibility wise, given that it occurred in a parking lot (private property) and also technically in an intersection.
I'm parked at position A (on the bike) and I reversed out of the spot turning right to then follow the blue line out of the parking lot..
After reversing and starting forward (at point C), car B whips into the parking spot indicated missing my front wheel by inches. I expressed my opinion on his driving habits, he responded with a single fingered salute and we went on our ways.
Before starting forward I did notice car B coming off the street, but assumed he'd be turning and at least stopping, but he accelerated just I as proceeded forward.
So if he had hit me, where would the responsibility lie? Could it be him for blowing the stop sign, and through an intersection?
Or would it be me for failing to yield while turning left?
