i went for a ride last night with about oh.... 25-35 others to squamish on our favorite lower mainland road and couldn't help thinking of what was going to happen to all the best corners available to us in the year's to come.
yes the olympics are a great opportunity to show off to the world, but not at the expense of the sea to sky. it may not be this year, or even next year, but if and when the re-construction begin's, what are we going to do for corner craving's? cypress? only has 8 -10 corners. seymour?? if they can remove the craters, it still only has a few more twisties than cypress.
maybe i am spoiled living on the north shore and having such easy access to the highway, but i don't want to have to ride for 2 hours of so to be able to mix it up, and slice and dice and puree some apexes and the like.
should we pool our collective resources and buy the highway for bikes and sports cars? get gordon campbell all bitched with vodlka and have him sign a letter of agreement to leave it alone? lay down in front of the bulldozers to stop the work?
