I don't understand the apparent universal hate-on for ICBC. Is it you feel you've been mistreated (which is justifiable in some instances -- like CG's case -- but out of all the cases ICBC handles there are bound to be some bad ones) and/or the premiums they charge?
The reason I'm asking is because most of the people on this site appear to be in their early 20s and you're the group that gets totally screwed over by private insurance companies. (Have you've heard what's happened in the Maritimes? Automobile insurance rates have increased markedly for everyone and it's become a major political issue. I believe the NB government, which had a comfortable majority when it called the election, barely won -- like by one seat -- and skyrocketing insurance rates were the main issue.) This being the case I can't see how you feel you'd be better off without ICBC.
I'm not trying to be a jerk here. I'm legitimately curious as to why young people feel they way the do in light of (what I understand to be) the alternative. Thanks.
