07.19 'Valley' Day Trip to Spences Bridge
Hi All -
This is my first 'Ride' post, so I want to make sure I have all of the info posted correctly.
When: Saturday Morning, 07.19 Leaving about 8:00am.
Where to: Ride from 'Valley' to Spences Bridge for lunch at the Log Cabin Pub - then back to valley.
Why: Day off / Nice weather / Bike needs excercise...
Meeting point: Can meet in Abbotsford, or Chilliwack - negotiable.
Pace: Novice/Intermediate - just looking to excercise and improve my skills.
Distance: About 200KM each way (from Abbotsford).
Time: About 2ish hours each way, depending on your pace.
Bikes so far:
The ride (so far) consists of myself, and 2 more sport riders ( friends of mine, not on the forum - yet). We are simply looking for a decent ride on a nice day - and don't want to deal with any of the S2S hassles, traffic problems, etc. No stress - just a fun ride, a pub lunch, and blast back home. We would like to leave fairly early in the morning, and be back in the mid-late afternoon.
We will CONFIRM the ride tomorrow (Friday - 07.18) evening to verify that everything is still a go.
Arrggghhh... I'm busy that day - but good for Sunday... boo hoo! It's a nice ride!! Have fun.
sounds like fun... I'm in
I'm riding on saturday with some friends, one has a 250 and one a 750 cruiser. do you think they could keep up?

they should be able to, if the pace isnt to hot i assume they should not have a problem. should be a good ride for all
If you can give a exact meeting place i should be able to make it
Too bad it isn't Sunday!! Been waiting for a group ride out of the valley.
Where are you meeting..
I maybe in, will be riding slow at the end of the pack.
If that is okay - will join.
Hi all -
I envision a slow-to-medium pace - I don't have Jalapenos in my Jockeys, so I'm not in any hurry. The friends that I asked to join are also medium-pace riders.
That being said, you are more than welcome to twist the throttle as hard as you like - We can catch up with you at the Pub if groups get separated.
A location to meet-up at could be in Chilliwack, or possibly even Hope. Since there are a riders coming from some different areas, it might be easiest to meet at the Chevon station in Hope, fill up, and go from there.
Again, we are going to CONFIRM this ride tonight (probably around 6pm ish) there is a couple of last minute phone calls to be made to guarantee the time-off on Saturday.
If Saturday dosn't work I'M in for Sunday!! If not next time.
The latest update - 5:30PM - 07.18
My 2 friends cannot join due to unfortunate schedule conflicts.
My schedule is still clear - I am still pumped to go for a ride if I can find a least a couple of other riders to join. There is an inherent 'safety' in numbers, and the ride is that much better of an experience if there are fellow riders to share it with.
I would still like to leave in the morning, arrive around noon, and back around 4ish.
I am a fairly conservative rider - I am not really interested in screaming up the canyon, just a fun ride. I prefer riding in small groups of 3-4 (instead of for example 8-10) to have a bit of space. That being said, the point of the ride is to 'exercise' my bike a bit, so I don't expect to spend too much time in the slow lane.
I figure Hope is a good meeting point. Most may need to fill up their tanks if riding in from the coast. The Hope exit is #170.
MEETING DATE: 07.19.03 - Saturday July 19th
MEETING TIME: 9:00am
CHEVRON & Town Pantry
885 Water St., Hope, B.C.
The Chevron is on the main street through town (Water St.) off the highway - can't miss it.
Again, I am looking for a few riders to commit, as I don't really want to go up alone.
Suggestions are welcome.
I'll be there I"m comin from N Van so if I'm a few seconds late give me a break, i'll be there, see you in the am.If anybody is coming from van and wants to ride to hope together let me no we can meet some where

Real Men ride NAKED!!
I'll try to make it as well. Gonna need a coffffeeeee break at Hope!! Kinda early for me for a Saturday!!
If anyone is interested in going on the same ride on Sunday post on here!
Ride is CONFIRMED
Looks like the ride is a 'GO'.
Kuno, and Bobby are ready to rock, and there may be a few more stragglers that join up. I will try to PM a few who showed some interest.
We'll meet up at the Hope CHEVRON at 9:00am and leave at 9:30am. This leaves a 1/2hr 'window' if you are a bit behind schedule (also leaves time for a coffee, and a stretch!).
I hear ya' Machinist, I'd love to go Sunday but I have some other plans. Hopefully you can get a 'Sunday Run' together - there was quite a bit of interest.
