I'm looking at new bicycle helmets and there's some good MIPS options, got me interested in checking out the technology. There are off road motorcycle helmets with it, but nothing for street bikes yet?
I am hearing more and more about concussions and rotational forces especially with the new focus on hockey and football head injuries, street bike helmets seem like a logical place for MIPS style designs. Are any of the manufacturers working on it?
Not sure about motorcycle applications but I race road bicycles and just switched to a MIPS later helmet and it's awesome. Had a big crash with rotational impact in the Tour De Delta criterium last year with a Giro Ionos without MIPS and definitely wanted to take advantage of any technology that could reduce rotational impacts going forward.
