Vancouver BMW Ducati Iron Butt Ride - save the date June 25th, 2016

There will be an organized Iron Butt Association ride again this year on Saturday,
June 25th with the assistance and support of Vancouver BMW Ducati

This is a turn key event , at ride's end you will be presented with your ride certificate, IBA Plate backer. This pre-approved ride saves participants the time and effort required to complete and your paperwork and documentation for submission to the Iron Butt Association for approval.

Again this year there will be three distinct rides offered with all of them starting in at the Dealership in Vancouver.

    1. The basic around the province loop that is geared to people doing their first 1,600 KM / 1,000 mile day,

    2. A more technically demanding 1600 KM Route route that requires multiple Ferry Trips, a lot more secondary roads. To participate in the ride the mandatory completed of a previous IBA Ride and proof of membership in the Iron Butt Association in required.

    3. An advanced two day ride that will require the rider to complete back to back 1,600 kilometer days and include ringing on either the Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday with a an overnight documented rest in out an out of Province location.

    4. We are looking at a possible route for a 24 or 36 hour 1500 mile Ride (Bun Burner or BunBurner Gold) again this will be for existing IBA Members. This ride will be in both the US and Canada. Stay tuned

As in past years a pre ride seminar with Q & A will be held at Vancouver BMW Ducati
    June 9th at 7pm

If you are planning to join us for the Iron Butt Ride on June 25th, please attend this meeting as it will provide you with some very good information to prepare yourself.

A local rider who is a two time finisher of the Iron Butt Rally 11 Days -11,000 Miles will be speaking.

Long distance riding is a challenge for anyone. There are tricks and things that should be considered to prepare yourself for the long distance ride.

This seminar will cover a lot of topics on preparation, safety and dealing with fatigue on the road.

BCSB had mountains of experience with a lot of things. #1 on that list is pouring out bullshit to dumb questions by the Gigabyte. (TripleTime, 12-10-2014 03:19 PM)

This is pretty awesome, what a great intro into the IBA. Would be tempting if I didn't currently ride a CRF250L lol. I know it's theoretically possible to finish... just wouldn't be that much fun.

I'm going to do this this year. Looks like it should be a cool ride.
