I've been restoring a motorcycle (1975 Kawasaki H1) for a very long 15 months.
I got it with out papers, other than a bill of sale including his driver's license number.
The owner before me never had a title for it when he had it, but he did send in a letter to one of the last owners, and never got a reply. (part of the ICBC process), so he did that much leg work but never get it registered.
So the plan was to take in his paper work, plus my own half of the paper work and get it registered in my name.
Now ICBC is giving me the bureaucratic shuffle; in addition to the paper work I've already had notarized, I have to send a letter to the fellow I got the bike from, and wait for a reply or lack of response, saying I didn't steal the bike or that he is unreachable....EVEN THO I HAVE A SIGNED BILL OF SALE FROM HIM!
I feel like I'm being put on a wild goose chase up a 2 month paper mountain.
Please help me, I've put my heart and soul into this project, countless hours and expense... I just want to ride my bike... It may sound like a small thing but this bike means my summer to me, all my plans have been leading up to this and now I'm stuck behind red tape...
If any one has any advise any leads or any bit of help trying to get this through, please let me know.
