Question that I cant find the answer to anywhere. Thanks in advance for help!
On a road where there are two lanes in one direction with parked cars in one of the lanes, is it legal for a vehicle (a motorcycle in this case, because it'll fit) to drive in the empty space in the lane where there are parked cars?
Its legal in Ontario but I cant find reference to it in BC.
Obviously you wouldnt rip down the lane for safety reasons, but in rush hour it can really get you through the downtown core because you're always at the light instead of waiting multiple turns due to left turners in your lane.
My concern is that an officer may consider it lane splitting or filtering or whatever, and I cant find where sharing a lane with a parked car is explicitly allowed in BC.
Ride safe all!
