borrow a Bmw rt oil filter wrench?

Wanted to change the oil on my 2007 R1200rt and could not find the filter wrench in my disaster of a garage. I live near kits if anybody in vancouver and willing to lend it to me for a day or two.

    12 flute 76mm.

    Thanks

I have no idea what bmw oil filter looks like (is it super special filter unlike any other oil filter?), but I got one of these if it will work

I also have one of these, but not sure if it is same specs as the one you need

Thx... I have that wrench but the filter is inset into the bottom of the engine. Can probably use it to take the filter off but gonna be hard to get it jback on.

The BMW filter wrench has 12 flutes/sides... Most have 14 or more.

Is it a cartridge or you just need something to grip the filter in a tight space? If the latter, just go grab one of these.

I'd be concerned those fingers are too thick to fit. German engineering dictates that the special factory tool is the only acceptable option.

Sounds like it's garage cleanup this weekend or finding a C-note for another das ist gut one from the dealer.

Yeah that's not gonna work. The former is very tight, only the proper flute style will work. I ordered mine from Touratech, was cheaper I think.*

Yeah. I just bite the bullet and ordered one...cost plus riding to Blaine to pickup is still easier than cleaning garage...
