8:22pm today I'm riding with my girlfriend on my bike heading east on Marine Drive after making a left from Victoria Drive. I'm travelling in the middle lane of the 3 lanes at 65km/hr.
I see a VPD cruiser heading west in the opposite direction in the fast lane travelling about 30 - 40 km/hr. He pulls a u-turn after I pass him and pulls me over for speeding as he said he has me on radar doing 74km/hr.
Speeding? 65km/hr on Marine?
I keep my cool as I see this as some kind of f#$%#n harrassment towards bikers and thinking he'll give me a warning.
He hands me a $115 ticket.
I ask to see the radar but the officer says it doesn't capture the reading so I can't see it. He say's just dispute it.
Now unless the VPD has equipment that calibrates their radar gun so it takes into account the direction and speed that the gun is travelling I see this as pure fuckin bullshit.
Any fuckin physics student can tell you that the speed he is travelling is additive to my speed because I'm travelling in the opposite direction.
30km/hr + 65km/hr does not equal 74km/hr. Should equal 95km/hr at least.
My fukin point, who the fuck takes radar measurements while fukn driving.
Now I have to waste my time to dispute this fuck'n bullshit.
Sorry to whine but I feel I just got shafted....Anybody else experience this situation?
I respect the law but this Officer needs some training in coming up with better bullshit
