I was pulled over for speeding in Nanaimo, the officer wrote me up for doing 74 in a 50 zone, I asked to see the radar reading, he showed it to me, it was locked in at 73. He then asked if I had anything to drink, I told him no, and he proceeded to give me a breathalizer. In the mean time he made me sign the 115.00 ticket. He then got an emergency call and told me to go, he never issued me the ticket, however I did sign the ticket, and he did not give me the breathalizer. Man, I was lucky I did have couple of beers, but not enough to blow over! So I asked around and I was told that the ticket is null and void if it is not served by an officer in uniform. 1 week later the ticket showed up in the mail, un registered of course. I feel, even though I did sign the ticket, that the ticket was not served, and that I could most likely disput the ticket, and claim that I never received that ticket! Any comments or thoughts would be appreciated!
