I wasn't sure how, or where to post this one......funnie's? I'm goin for a ride? or what?
Here goes. A couple of us get together for a ride this Sunday, everything is going as planned, weather is good ,roads are good,so we start our journey. We head down Hwy #33 south from Kelowna towards Rock Creek, on the way there(with me leading ) the guy's I'm speaking of(no name's) are use to my hand and foot siginals(I hold my hand out , and point to the left , if it's safe to pass on a double solid, where I can see it's safe to do so) Please don't try this if you don't TOTALLY trust the one doing the pointing. And another siginal I use quite a bit , I drop a foot off the peg and point to the ground, if there's gravel, or some kind of road obstruction. Back to riding south on #33 We're boiling along at a good pace 130-150 kmh when all of a sudden I realize the 2nd car that is coming towards us is an RCMP....well I spike the break's.....and drop a foot of the peg(don't know why I dropped a foot off the peg) guess it's because we didn't discuss what signal to use for cops?(I usually pin it and hide in the bushes like a little school girl) none the less, dropping the foot off the peg, distracted the 2 followers I had,and while they were looking for gravel on the road, the cop passed us going the other way and tapped his brakes just to warn us. I was doing 130+ and Buddy behind me was damn near on my pillion seat when he realized that there was NO gravel, and he needed to throw out the anchor or he was going to be the new leader of our group without even trying(he damn near ran up my ass looking for gravel instead of a cop).
Wasn't that bad though. So we keep heading south, next stop Rock Creek......as we've seen the only cop that this area has , we step up the pace a bit,not to much though, we have a fairly new rider with us,and he's not on a machine of this decade (85 GSX-R)
we pull into R Creek for gas ,and Buddy 2 says his bike has developed a bit of a speed wobble, and would i look at it....no problem I say, what is it doing I ask? he tells me it's wandering a bit between 150 and 200 .After a carefull tire inspection,I tell him he needs at least 30-40 lbs tire psi NOT the 0 psi he has in the rear, poor guy got a flat rear about 25km ago and rode it out
"quite nicely I might add"
So here we are in R Creek with no patch,no nuthin, so I went in and bought one of those "tire in a can" $13 They don't work,so save your money if you ever want to try these thing's.
Anyways I go up the HWY to the local tire guy(who is closed ) and beg him for a tire repair plug,he gives it to me,and the tools to perform the job,and I pay him $10 and tell him I'll be back with the tools ASAP.
I return to the downed bike ,get it fixed ,and we're on our way once again.
Heading to ANARCRIST Mtn My fave as we get close to the Mtn I break away from the group and set out to do some tire shreading of my own.....I told these guys of my illness, and that this may happen,so what ever you do DON'T follow me.....it's a sickness that I have to deal with!
1 trip down the mighty Mtn U turn at the bottom, and back up again, I meet my guy's(headin down the hill) about 1/2 way up the hill, get in a couple more turns and U turn to get back to the group, who is patiently waiting for me in Osoyous.
We gas up and head north to Vasaux Lk for lunch and back to Kelowna .
All in all it was a great ride ! My hat's off to Buddy #2 for riding a 18 year old bike with ZERO air pressure in the rear tire at speed's up to 200 Kmh.
I'v been threatened there would be pictures......not to sure ?
Great ride guy's.......any time you want to do it again, just shout at me,I'm in!
