Suzuki SV 650
Both are supposedly great for intermediates (from what reviews I've read).
I've ridden motorcycles ever since I was 10-11, started out on a 50cc dirtbike, then went up to a 70cc motorcycle in Malaysia. Have tons of survival experience up the wahoo from driving there (Lines? What lines?) where lane splitting is basically the ONLY way you get from point A to point B on time.
I've been thinking about getting a dual-purpose, almost bought a Honda NX250, but it got sold before I could even take a look at it.
So I'm going to sell my VW Corrado (stickshift), hopefully get around $12,000 for that. Buy some good quality gear (Suomy) and then take my class 6 test.
I know a lot of people are going to vote for the SV 650, but I'd like to hear from those who've ridden Ducati Monsters before, I like both of them and wouldn't mind having either (though my friends really like the Ducati and I have to admit it does stand out from amongst Japanese crowds)
So anyways, flame me, insult me, ban me, criticize me, whatever, just go at it and tell me flat out, IYO, which is the better bike overall for me?
PS - I know the laws here are alot less *flexible* so I won't even pretend to know how to ride these bikes on the streets here, hence the lessons which I will be taking from BCSC, which I have heard great feedback from. And, no, I am not a jack-ass knowitall.
