For those that wear them, what kind/brand do you use?
I have used the soft foamy plugs that you roll and squish to insert. They work well, but I find they lose their effectiveness after two applications.
Then I tried some rubber earplugs meant for swimmers. They offer slightly less sound protection but they last a lot longer, AND I could clean them with soap an water. They are very easy to insert (no squish and roll) but over time and use they lose their stiffness making them difficult to insert.
Has anyone tried other kinds of hearing protection? Anyone tried custom-made plugs? Ideally I want something that is reusable, cleanable, and quick to put in.
Short term I will probably grab another pair of the swimming plugs. (See the Aqua Hearos at http://www.hearos.com.)
