I was riding along Main making a turn onto 4th when a bicycle decided they wanted to cross....so I made a sudden stop...and when I started up again...I mis-shifted from first to 2nd. Reshifted and started riding. As I rode a long, the bike felt "rough" and then I could feel alot of heat coming from the right side of the engine on my leg (checked to make sure there wasn't any flames). Then when I stopped behind a left hand turning vehicle I could feel it start to sputter....and its idle was really rough now...like a car whose engine is flooded. Then when I started up, it sputtered...no rev...no gusto...just kinda jerked along. Stopped...threw on the hazards (yes my bike has hazards lights) and stopped traffic as I moved my bike to the side of the street (lots of nice men wanted to push my bike for me ). Sat there for a few minutes with the engine off and waited for the engine to cool down. Started her up when she felt cool and off we went...just like new. Any ideas what happened?
This isn't the first time its happened. And it only happens if I mis-shift from first to 2nd (into neutral).
