Setting rear sag... what should damping and compression be??
Just wondering, when setting rear sag on a aftermarket rear shock (Fox Shox), should the damping and compression be set to the lowest setting when I'm set rear sag or does it matter???
Any inputs from the experts will be greatly appreciated.
this is my...boomstick!
Set sag first. Sag is unaffected by your compression and rebound settings so, where you're at with those is irrelevant. Check the front sag, too, while you're at it.
Especially with aftemarket shocks/forks, I like to start, after sagging the bike, with full soft on all serttings. This allows me to feel the real issues with the damping. Starting from hard masks problems and makes it harder to set it up right.
