The Vancouver Toy Run is coming up Oct. 5.
I've been trying to think of ways to make us (sportbikers) look better instead of all being tarred with the same "stunt(speed)-every-second-on-the-street" brush that many of us don't deserve.
And what speaks louder than words?
Sooo, in the interest of helping us all, I am proposing to organize a massive donation from all us bcsportbikes.com members and present it to the toy run organizers.
Considering last year when I went, most of the 20 or so people from here I saw give $20 cash each, wouldn't it be nicer to present $400 cash in one lump sum and say it is from us?
And I'll bet with the boost in numbers since last year, way more of us will show up and could pump up the donation significantly.
I am willing to organize this but am wondering what the group's opinions are.
Is this a stupid idea? Good idea? One you're willing to step up to, etc.?
We all go to lots of events and many of us donate a good chunk of change to each of these events.
Why not get some bloody recognition for what we're already doing and come out smelling a little more rose-like?
Personally, I can't see a downside.
