After arriving in Calgary, just in time to see the last(hopefully)of the 18 inches of snow they got last week,we start settin my new bike up for that track.I was sharing my bike with last years Amateur Super Bike Champion and I might add sponsor, life saver and kissen his ass for free stuff....anyways ............back on topic. The first day was practice and target day, with loads of new racers and they were great! Amateur racers were amongst the best I have ever seen. We got to close to two hundred km's of testing in between the two of us, looking for the suspension setting that would be suitable for us. Buddy wouldn't ride to his potential due to being concerned about throwing my bike away. My girlfriend got hammered on the observation deck and couldn't seem to negotiate which track the boys were playing on....the oval or the road course. But I left the track Saturday with a good feeling for Sunday.
Arrived Sunday morning and my buddy decided not to race due to the suspension on my bike was not dialed in for his pace. REEEEEALLY FUCKING FAST!! So off I go into the G-force world by myself. Gridding at 21st for the Heavy Weight Am event. The targets off and off we go on the straight stretch into turn one of a cluster fuck, as usual. Going through the bikes and catching your line takes a lap and then you have the pace of the track.
The first race, heavy weight 21st to 6th position and the second race the superbike amateur was 23rd and coming in fifth. What a great weekend and no snow.
