Hey guys and girls,
i have been looking into racing for the next season. there is quite a bit of info out there - so i am just going to post up what i have got out of it and please advise me on anything else.
I ride a 01gixxer600, with pretty much a brand new set of D208-GP race tires. I most likely will have spare fairings for it by next summer.
i have been looking into a few race trax and mission looks the best as i am in Victoria and its a bitch trying to get anywhere...
at mission i will be able to take the novice racing school, which should run about $450 and will show me how to properly prep my bike, and give me a racing license.
From there on, i can come on track days and/or race days which could cost me around $500 per day.
why do i need a race license? which commision provides it? what does it give me? will it be recognized on all major tracks, even in the states? will anyone keep track of my lap times, etc?
will i need a trailor, or can i just ride my bike over?
from what i understand this is the cost brake down in CAD:
- track fees - 150-200 per day
- tires/breaks/chain/sprokets should last me 3 or 4 times.
- oil, filter, fuel - 50-100 per day
- hotels, ferries, food, etc...
Am i leaving or forgeting anything out? is this the best way to go? your advice would greatly appreciate as i am trying to put together a budget till next april.
PS - Shift - i saw you are looking to split costs of going over to Van. PM and we can talk.
