    Removing the speedo

Is there a washer or anything available to replace the speedo gearing on the axle? Will a washer from the right side fit?

The speedo drive is also an axle spacer on most bikes, and best not to replace it with washers. You can remove the guts out of it if you want. It might require circlip pliers.

Bernie's got the ticket here. Did just that on my F2. Easy and painless.

Making a new spacer is fine if you have access to the machines (I do but it wasn't worth the trouble) but if you have to spend money on it then it's just not worth it.
A backyard mechanic without a service manual is just like a hooker without a lamp pole.... they are both in the dark.
