For the past two years, I have been parking my bike in the secure underground parking lot of my building. There isn't a designated stall where I park it, but since there is a large concrete column there, it can't be used for a car. It is also next to a large glass window near the elevators, so it is highly visible. It's a great spot, and has cost me nothing....... so far.
However, I just got a letter from my strata tonight which reads:
Motorcycle Parking
A letter was presented regarding motorcycle parking. At this time the Building Manager is looking at areas available. This area could help generate some additional revenue.
This could really suck, since they could force me to park my bike in a less visible area AND charge me for the privelage.
The last time something was mentioned about motorcycle parking, the chair of the strata said the areas that are not designated stalls, do not belong to the building, but actually the City of Vancouver. Therefore if they were to charge money, wouldn't it have to go to the City?
Has anyone else had a similar experience?
