I got a call from a from Sprint Canada (telemarketing) the other day. They said if I switched to them as my phone provider it would not cost any more than what I am paying now PLUS I get one FREE feature (e.g. call waiting, call display, etc...). I was interested having seen all the media reports on how poor Telus has been doing, as well as getting something for free. I asked if I had to deal with Telus at all and they said no. If there is a problem with my service I call them and they will take care of everything. Now whether their customer service will be better I don't know but I figure perhaps I'll give them a shot cause it probably can't get worse than Telus and at the very least send a message to Telus to get their act together. However, I must point out, in fact, their System Access Fee was $1 more. So their price was Basic line + 1 feature = $29.95 + applicable tax and fees. The bottom line was about $37.xx
I just thought I'd let you guys/gals know there is an alternative to Telus. I saw people on the news saying they'd switch in the heartbeat if there was another option.
Secondly, just wondering if anyone here has switched or using Sprint as for their provider for home phone, and your experience?
Thirdly, with all the posts about wireless, I noticed on Sprint's site (http://www.sprint.ca) that they also have a home phone + Fido wireless package for $44.95/month. Since I'm already on Fido I thought this might be the way to go.
Anyway, there appears to be a lot of educated consumers on this site. Any opinions on Sprint would be appreciated before I make my decision.
btw, with Sprint they said that I for whatever reason I was not satisfied I could call them to cancel and there would be no charge to switch me back to Telus. In other words, no cost to try them out.
