    Aprilia RSV 1000 Nera perks

This is crazy. Apparently if you put down $40K US for a limited edition Aprilia RSV 1000 Nera, you get the following perks:
    • Custom-made Dainese leathers with titanium at key points of contact
    • Aprilia helmet and performance gloves
    • Executive desk model of the bike
    • Limited edition photo book
    • Certificate of ownership signed by company president Ivano Beggio
    • A trip to the 2004 Rio Grand Prix in Brazil, including full accommodations and full paddock access, including team gear and passes, plus invitations to team dinners and a personal meeting with the GP pilots.

Last time one of my friends bought a bike new, he had to fight to get a disc lock thrown in. In comparison this sounds like a steal to me

i'd spend $14 on a used 916, and the rest on Guinness

fuck, i mean people routinely spend $40k on a cage that they then have trouble picking out of the parking lot 'cus it looks just like everyone else's car, so why not have something really unique and exotic? (you can have vyour groceries deliered )

If I had US$40,000 of disposable income, I would be first in line. I think that's an absolute bargain. If I found out I had only 6 months to live, I'd cash in my chips to get one.
    What was it all about?

you could build a unique bike all it's own for half that price ,and outperform that bike by miles .Bikes like this are for people with no imagination .

I will,I will!!! It may have some neat components but I think its an ugly bike.

A new ZX10 with a bunch of cool stuff on it thrown on it and an autograph on my unit are worth a helluva lot more.Actually Borderline said it best.

Let's see what 40, grand US could get us. Well start with a sock Jap liter bike for 11 000
Front end:Ohlins radial mount superbike forks 6000, Titanium front axle, Marchesini forged magnesium wheel 3500, Brembo rotors, monobloc radial mount calipers ,radial mount mc 4000 area, Attack adjustable tripple clamps to fit ohlins fork 800, Ohlins damper and haris mounting bracket 800, clipons and fairing stay 400
    Front end price: $15 500

Rear end: Custom boxed in swing arm/brembo monobloc brake system 2500, 520 chain/sprockets 400,Marchesini forged magnesium wheel 3500, Ohlins shock 700, adjustable hight solo subframe 300, Attack adjustable rearsets 600
    Rear end price: $8 000
Engine and the rest of the junk: Hard case covers 400, CF batery tray/sealed airbox 400, Full exaust system and electronics 2500,race radiator 600, adding hp by getting your engine biult by the man 5000 - 10 000
    Engine price: 10 000

    Total price: $44 500

Ok so we went over board about five grand and that didn't include all the nuts and bolts, bodywork, tires n everthing else that would go on top of that so probably another three to five grand or more of stuff I left out. So what bike would you want?

... but does Jason's bike come with an executive desk model of the bike and a limited edition photo book? I didn't think so!

Seriously, it takes a special type of person to drop $40K US on a bike like this. And I'm not that type for sure. If I had 40 large burning a hole in my pocket I'd rather give it to Jason and Borderline to play with

i would build this for a lot less and kick the shit oout of that aprillia ,plus i'd autograph it and have some 12 year old make me a plastic model of it in a display case .
Jason .s bike is cool too ,it would cost less if you didn't pay retail for all the items
