I got busted for window tint in N.Van on 1st avenue between Pemberton & Capilano (by railway yard). Bastards. I didn't get my window down in time, guy must of seen slight tint. Had me roll up the window. 14 days to remove it and go for inspection. I did a real nice job on the tint too. Looks like factory. Pulled the glass out of the doors. I'm thinking of swapping windows with my buddy's F150 and going for inspection. Yes, I know tint beside the driver is illegal but do you think this is dark and a menace to police?? You can look right bloody through it!
I'm just doing some research as to what the Canadian Motor Vehicle Act glass glazing standards for minimum light transmission are and maybe getting some "factory" tinted glass. Fugg them cops. Whats worse is rules are different in every province.
I was friendly to the cop so why did I get hassled. Don't they have better things to enforce like no insurance, expired license??
I like tint because it looks good, doesn't fog up as quick in winter, hides my hidden stereo install, offers some privacy, holds the glass together on an intrusion attempt.
