I was at Carter Coquitlam yesterday and tried on a pair of medium Joe Rocket Phoenix pants. They fit like a glove and look like they'd be very cool to wear in the summer. They're comfortable and fit great but my only issue with them is when you're standing the knee pads sit so low (the knee pad is below the knee) that it wouldn't seem you'd have any knee protection if you're sliding down the pavement with your legs straight out. It also feels kind of weird to walk in them too because of this. However, in a seated position the knee pads are perfectly positioned. For owners of these pants, what do you think of the knee pad placement? Is this a safety issue? I'm sure if you're sliding feet first with your legs straight then the knee pads would shift up to cover your knees but what if you're sliding head first?
