    Eagle watching

Does anyone know where is a good place to go see some of the bald eagles in Squamish?

I've been hearing that this is the season to go see them.

Brackindale (sp?) is where they count the eagles every year. Crescent Beach in the summer is loaded with eagles. Last year we saw about a dozen hanging out in the trees along the bluff.

Yeah, you just take a left at Garibaldi Way (left at the Burger King), then take a right. Follow that road and you'll come to the "Eagle Viewing Area" which is right across from the Easter Seal Camp. It's up on the dike on the left.

There's a huge eagle festival out in Mission/Harrison Mills each year. Took place a few months ago now. I've never understood why people would want to stand around and look at birds. Seems a tad boring to me.
I've had to cover the event a couple times and standing in the cold, watching some bird take a dump or eat a fish is an uneventful way to spend the day. IMHO, that is.

Yes, the national bird of US of A is a scavenger , how appropriate. :-)
