Has anyone else read about this and/or been reading about this issue on Road Racing World's website?
Any thoughts or opinions?
I think it stinks. From the tone of most of the e-mails sent to RRW magazine's website many people share this opinion too. It seems to be resulting in heaps of bad publicity for Dunlop among racers. (Is Dunlop scared of a little competition?) In fact, some people are saying that they will no longer buy Dunlop tires because of it.
I loved Michelin NA's response to this. Their spokesperson said (something along the lines of) that what Dunlop's done is piss off Michelin France, who are now inclined to throw even more resources at North America. (Oopps!)
I think (hope) this will bite Dunlop in the ass. (Go E-Boz/Ducati!) I hope they re-think their strategy on this.
