Finally, a politician has come clean with what some of us knew all along.
I'd go further than that and say a high percentage of all speeding tickets have nothing to do with safety and everything to do with revenue generation.
That being the case, the cost accountants for the governments must have ascertained that a percentage of all speeding tickets would be challenged, and the court costs associated with those challenges would still allow the government a surplus of money to be put into the General Revenue account, instead of repairing roads and using the cash for public safety, ie police protection.
Fight all your speeding tickets.
