Last summer some green meter maid gave my bike a ticket when it was parked downtown in a triangle. "Should I roll over and pay the ticket?" HELL NO!! What kind of example would that set for all the aspiring bikers who dream to park downtown?
At my "day in court" I destroyed the charge with my trusty digital camera, measuring tape, and city of vancouver bylaws!
The meter maid tried to claim "the bike was 8.5 paces, i.e., 17 feet" from the meter pole.... UH UH, the tale of the tape says you're over 5 feet wrong! Too bad you don't have five measuring tapes in your house like I do!
Hopefully a disheartening defeat in court will spread the message that they shouldn't pick on bikers!
