I was on my 3rd ride of the season and the weather was great. I was only 10mins into my ride and calmly cruising out to a good riding area at a little over 100mph on the backroads, I have to be careful to keep it down with the local racing crack downs.
I see this bird coming at me, dodges, I get down behind my windscreen it banks left and BAM!! right into the front of my bike. I thought I hoovered it into my RAM air and I could just get bird burgers out the back of my Akrapovic. But the WHOLE bird squeezed itself through the space just to the side of my parking light. That space is about 1/32" and on an angle. The beak, spine, guts jammed in behind my instrument cluster with the feathers sticking to my windscreen, helmet, left arm, left mirror. The guts spewed all over the inside of my bike on the fairing and the left air duct cover. I even got blood through the air screen on my Arai, it was on my nose when I checked the mirror.
It took about 2 hours to disassemble enough of the bike to get most of it out, there may still be stuff behind the headlights and my instrument cluster, I am not sure. It was starting to get dim and I was sick of bird guts.
To make matters worse, Mr. Murphy could hardly stop himself from laughing But thanks for trying to be sympathetic, LOL.
I am hoping my fairing is not scratched, I don't think it is, I will see more tomorrow in better light. There is a small crack behind the windscreen from the impact, but I think I can live with it.
Now I just cross my fingers and hope my bike doesn't stink like Dead FISH in a couple days.
